All roads lead to Rome and from Rome…….just 40 minutes from the Port of Civitavecchia The venue of our local rustic cooking workshops, at the beautiful Borgo Di Tragliata Estate, Borgo being the name for a self-sufficient community, smaller than a village but bigger than a family. The Borgo Tragiliata which is an eco-friendly Hotel and cookery school typically Italian in a rustic environment. Before each lesson you will harvest fresh vegetables from the borgos own organic vegetable garden and use local olive oil. We then proceed to an area where our local chef Luciano (with many years of experience in luxury 5 star Hotels) will share his best kept secrets to Italian cooking. The borgo is proud of its huge stone oven dating back to the medieval period which is used when requiring an oven of course depending on recipe of the day. Which is based on seasonal and regional recipes for the day.
On arrival a short visit to the Borgo and Etruscan ruins on the property. Where after lesson Lesson starts at 11h30 and is followed by Lunch of your own creations which includes local Wine and copies of recipes prepared.
The cookery school cost 150 Euros per person and includes transport fromthe centre of Rome or the Port, Cooking lesson and a 2 course meal, champaigne at the Posta Vecchia and a hostess all day.
On return a stop to visit more Etruscan ruins at the charming holiday home of the Getty Family. La Posta Vecchia where a glass of champaigne will be served in style before our onward return journey to the Port.
